Kuala Kubu Bharu , June 13 - MACC was invited to ‘Permukiman Jalinan Silaturrahim’ Engagement Programme, organized by International Islamic University College Selangor (KUIS) in a joint effort with Kampung Rasa Melayu villagers in Kuala Kubu Bharu recently .

The programme which was held at Masjid Al-Kholidiah in Kampung Melayu Rasa was intended to spark a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect, as well as instilling values via the activities conducted.

In addition, the programme was aimed to create understanding between people from educational institutions and society thus increasing universal harmony.

Approximately 300 residents of Kampung Melayu Rasa, including students from the Core Learning Centre, KUIS and MACC officers had taken in the programme. MACC also prepared exhibition booth to be visited by the locals there.

Various exciting activities were carried out over the one-day programme. It began at 9.00 am, started with ‘gotong-royong’ to clean off Al-Kholidiah Mosque, as well as having warm visit to the locals’ houses. The programme was later carried on with, ‘Dhuha’ commencement speech, delivered by ‘Pencetus Ummah’ cum Assistant Officer of KUIS Islamic Affairs, Azihal bin Bangsawan.

* ‘Dhuha’ means time which begins when the sun has risen to the height of a spear, which is fifteen or twenty minutes after sunrise, until just before the sun passes its zenith.

Next was the opening ceremony, graced by Deputy Rector of Student Development and Alumni at KUIS, Ybhg. Dr. Mokmin Basri.

In the afternoon, the programme continued with a colouring contest for children and IQ test. On top of that, also held was a motivational talk for teens, particularly for those aged 12 and above.

The programme ended with prize presentation to the winners.
