Kuantan, July 1 - MACC Pahang in collaboration of Kampung Semambu Security Committee (JKKK), Kesatuan Rukun Tetangga (Neighborhood Union) (KRT) and Semambu Mosque Committee had conducted 'Citizenizing MACC - A Joint Struggle' Programme in Semambu Mosque, Kuantan.
The ceremony commenced with a welcoming speech by JKKK Chairman cum Head of Kampung Semambu, Mr. Ramli bin Talib. In his speech, he acknowledged this programme and would always be upholding MACC efforts in curbing corruption.
Meanwhile, MACC Pahang DIrector, YBhg. Dato’ Zainul Bin Idrus delivered a speech on Corruption Prevention to the local community. In his session, he urged all the villagers there to lend a hand to MACC by bearing their utmost cooperation and support to the Commission.
According to him, "support from the community is very vital to ensure MACC aspiration to exterminate this filthy crime comes into realization". He also informed the ways to lodge report on corruption if they have information regarding it.
The event resumed with the distribution on 'yasin' soorah and MACC campaign materials such as flyers to the local community. In the meantime, also held was contribution of basic foods to the underpriveleged group by officers and personnel of MACC Pahang, including those from Temerloh and Raub Branches.
While waiting for breaking fast, Dean of IKIP International College, Ustaz Azahar Bin Jaafar @ Ramli presented a talk on "Finding a Halal Sustenance" via Tazkirah Ramadan session.
The event later proceeded with iftar, maghrib and isya congregative prayers, and then ended with tarawih prayer.
Approximately 500 people around the area attended this programme. Also present were District Chief Police Officer of Kuantan, District Unity Officer of Kuantan, government departments, MACC officers and polytechnic students in Kuantan. Also conducted was an exhibition in the vicinity of the mosque.
