MACC’s Investigation Does Not Block Supply Of Fire Department’s Fireproof Wear
THE MALAYSIAN Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirms that investigation is being carried out on the supply of fireproof wear for the Fire & Rescue Department for 2016 as reported by a local media outlet today.
Presently, the investigation process is in its final stages where MACC is awaiting statement from the United Kingdom requested through the Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA).
MACC has sent samples of the fireproof wear supplied by the contractor to the Department of Chemistry, who verified that the suit is not safe to be used as it does not meet the standards set by the Fire and Rescue Department.
MACC also affirms that the investigation is not related to any procurement processes of the Fire and Rescue Department that would block the supply and purchase of essential equipment for the agency.
Should there be any concerns regarding this issue, the Fire and Rescue Department may contact MACC.
