Semarak Pertiwiku Sambut KP SPRM Di Bumi Kenyalang


KUCHING, 13 July - The Chief Commissioner of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, YBhg. Puan Latheefa Koya was received with a special musical play entitled ‘Semarak Pertiwiku’ at the Auditorium Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) Batu Lintang Campus, during her working visit to Sarawak that started yesterday.

Lending additional significance to the theatre, with anti-corruption as its theme and elements of satire, parody and patriotism, was the attendance of the Sarawak Chief Minister, YAB Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Openg; Minister at the Chief Minister Officer (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Talib Zulpilip and other senior officials of the state government.

‘Semarak Pertiwiku’ was presented to raise awareness on integrity and corruption among the community, as well as to inculcate values of integrity in individuals, family, community and country.

The theatrical show was staged from 12 to 14 July and organised by the State Integrity & Ombudsman Unit [Integriti dan Ombudsman Negeri - UNION], Chief Minister Department, in cooperation with MACC Sarawak and the Applied Arts & Creative Faculty of University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

It depicts the lives of the workers at a construction site of the Menara Pertiwi that was to be the tallest building in the land of the Hornbills.

A total of 74 production crew were involved in the staging of the musical, including 24 actors who are students of the Applied Art & Creative Faculty and trainees of the Dual National Training Certificate.

Azhan Rani, Sherie Merlis, Anding, Taufik Hanafi, Elya, Chopie Cakap and Shah Kimin were the celebrated actors who lead the musical.

Also in attendance were the Director of MACC Sarawak, Dep. Comm. Razim Mohd Noor, Special Officer to the MACC Chief Commissioner, Chief SAC Hairuzam Mohmad Amin @ Hamim and officers from MACC Sarawak.
