KUANTAN, 15 April – The signing of the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) is a bold move by the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) and the Pahang State Executive Council Members (EXCO), headed by Pahang Menteri Besar, Dato’ Sri Hj. Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail in ensuring that the mandate is implemented sincerely, transparently and free from any elements of corruption, said Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention), Dato’ Shamshun Baharin Mohd. Jamil.
He said the leadership of the Pahang State Government and all ADUNs signing the IBR clearly showed sincerity, work commitment and a desire to serve in a conducive and corruption-free work environment to carry out their responsibilities and mandate to the people.
“I hope the MACC and the Pahang State Government will continue to win the trust, confidence and support of the people and provide the best service to the people through this IBR initiative," he said.
He said this in his address at the IBR Signing Ceremony with the Pahang State Government, held at Wisma Sri Pahang here today.
In his speech, Dato’ Shamshun Baharin also stressed that all politicians are advised to declare assets to the MACC where the information on the assets would be posted on the MACC Portal for public viewing.
"I would like to remind all State Government and ADUN members to further strengthen their integrity and transparency in carrying out their respective responsibilities to declare their respective property to the MACC, which is aimed at preventing people’s negative perception of against politicians," he said.
A total of 67 leaders of Pahang state government headed by Dato’ Sri Hj. Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail signed the IBR with Dato’ Shamshun Baharin as witness.
Also present at the ceremony were Pahang State Assembly Speaker, Dato’ Sri Hj. Ishak Hj. Muhamad; Pahang State Secretary, Dato’ Sri Dr. Salehudin Ishak; Pahang MACC Director, TPj Mohamad Fauzi Husin; Pahang Government Council Members, department heads and Pahang MACC Senior Officers.
