MACC Terengganu Creates History Disseminates Anti-Graft Message In Theatre
KUALA TERENGGANU, 23 MARCH - The Terengganu Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC Terengganu), has stepped forward in the efforts to disseminate anti-corruption messages to the general public by using a cinema platform as a new mechanism.
MACC Terengganu in collaboration with Lotus Five Star (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (LFS) and Terengganu's Home Ministry (KDN), will deliver anti-corruption messages through a short video that will be displayed on a silver screen before each movie show at the LFS Cinema Kuala Terengganu.
The objective of this inaugural initiative is to cultivate integrity values and abhorrence of corruption among the people, especially the people of Terengganu who often visit LFS Cinema Kuala Terengganu.
In line with MACC's tagline “Abhor Corruption Uphold Pride”, this initiative aims at raising the awareness and understanding of MACC’s functions, jurisdiction as well duties to the people.
MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operation), Datuk Seri Azam Baki officiated the grand launching of this short anti-corruption video (PSA) organized by MACC Terengganu in collaboration with LFS Cinema and KDN at Premier Hall 2, Level 7A LFS Cinema Kuala Terengganu.
Datuk Seri Azam in his opening remarks thanked LFS and KDN for providing opportunity to MACC to educate the public through anti-corruption messages.
“Anti-Corruption messages that will be screened on LFS cinema later, would caution the public on the corruption issues in Malaysia, which is not considered a small matter since the punishment and penalty for committing corruption is extremely heavy,” he added.
Azam added, the anti-corruption message screenings across all 14 LFS Cinemas across Malaysia are expected to help raise the positive image of LFS Cinema in the eyes of the public, especially among the audience who attend LFS cinema.
The estimated total number of audience who visited LFS Cinema nationwide in 2018 is 2.6 million people with an average of 220,000 visitors per month.
"The public will realize that LFS is in tandem with MACC and KDN in disseminating corruption prevention messages as well as implementing Corporate Responsibility (CSR) to the community," he explained.
LFS Cinema Kuala Terengganu is a Strategic Partner of MACC Terengganu, who also collaborated in the 2018 ‘Jalan-Jalan Tolak Rasuah’ (JJTR 2018) program, in addition to displaying short video (PSA) on the Digital Billboard located at the main ticket counter at no cost.
Other than LFS Cinema, the Enforcement and Control Division of KDN, the National Film Board (FINAS) as well as several Strategic Partners of MACC Terengganu are also involved in achieving the program objectives based on smart partnership.
