PUTRAJAYA, 1 Oct – 1st October marks a historic moment for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as it celebrates its 50th anniversary as the nation’s sole anti-corruption agency. This golden jubilee is celebrated to coincide with the official launch of its new office complex in Precinct 7, Putrajaya by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak.
MACC officers from the Headquarters and all across the country, including the top management as well as Division and State Directors gathered to celebrate this momentous occasion by joining the Prime Minister in his tour around the new complex, which consists of three blocks.
His tour included a visit to the MACC.FM conty with the Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) of MACC, Dato Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil. In this short casual session, he expressed his hope that everyone will strengthen their commitment to fight corruption as the nation’s number one enemy.
Upon officiating the launch of the new MACC complex, followed by the launch of the 50th anniversary celebration by Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad, Chief Commissioner of the MACC. In his speech, Dato Sri Najib expressed his pride of having the MACC complex as the biggest anti-corruption complex in the world, which is hoped to contribute to the nation’s transformation as a more advanced country as per the TN50 (National Transformation 2050) vision.
The event was also graced with the presence of the Chairman of the Senate, Tan Sri S. A. Vigneswaran.
