JELEBU, 26 Aug – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) once again successfully brought together the Ziarah Kasih programme, this time gathering 5,000 locals from four state assemblies in Negeri the Jelebu district of Negeri Sembilan: Chennah, Pertang, Sungai Lui and Klawang.
The third of the series of Ziarah Kasih programme, which aims to bring MACC closer to the rakyat, saw a myriad of activities made lively by officers and locals alike, from competitions of cooking, drawing and flower arrangement to traditional sports and games like coconut bowling, giant clogs and musical chair.
The community from four state assemblies also received about 4,000 donation packs consisting of groceries and necessities.
To top it off, the programme managed to gain the registration of 2,000 new members of Sahabat GERAH (Friends of GERAH) as another channel for lending support and assistance to the MACC in reporting and eradicating corruption.
The event was graced by the participation of Deputy Chief Commissioner (Management & Professionalism) of MACC, Dato Sri Jamidan Abdullah as well as state assemblymen from three constituencies: YB Dato Jalaluddin Alias (Pertang), YB Dato Yunus Rahmat (Klawang) and YB Mohd Razi Mohd Ali (Sungai Lui).
