BALING, 18-19 February – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Ziarah Kasih programme with the Kampung Sadek community this weekend received positive response through the participation of 400 locals as a community engagement effort.

The inaugural program beginning as early as 6AM was the brainchild of MACC’s Chief Commissioner, Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad, with the involvement of the top management as well as divisional and state-level Directors.

In addition to community feast and korban (animal sacrifice) events, a host of activities and games, including futsal matches and musical chair, were held to build rapport between MACC and the local community.

Datuk Dzulkifli, along with members of MACC’s top management, also joined in the merriment through activities like cleaning graveyards, mowing lawns as well as sports events like tug-of-war.

To further foster a sense of togetherness, the women of MACC and Kampung Sadek took the opportunity to hold a cook-off and flower arrangement competition.

The Ziarah Kasih programme saw the spirit of unity and harmony permeating the bond between the local community and MACC. The involvement of MACC officers from all ranks also reflected a sense of empathy and social responsibility in engaging the rakyat, in line with their vision to be more people-centric.
