PUTRAJAYA, 6 July – The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) responded to MACC’s call by signing the Corruption-Free pledge at their Auditorium in One IOI Square here today.

The pledging ceremony was led by the Chief Director of MMEA, Admiral Maritime Dato’ Indera Zulkifli Abu Bakar and witnessed by the Deputy Chief Commissioner (Management & Professionalism) of MACC, Dato’ Sri Mohd Jamidan Abdullah.

Dato’ Sri Mohd Jamidan said that MMEA must be empowered and strengthened to become an agency free from any involvement in corruption and abuse of power.

“A negative perception towards the agency caused by issues of corruption and abuse of power could ruin their image and honour, besides bringing about negative impacts on the nation’s economic development, security and sovereignty”.
