PUTRAJAYA, 11 May – The Ministry of Health (KKM) took the initiative of signing the Corruption-Free Pledge as a measure to prevent and fight corruption, misappropriation and abuse of power within its ranks today.
The Deputy Chief Commissioner (Management & Professionalism) of MACC, Dato’ Sri Mohd Jamidan Abdullah said, “The Corruption-Free Pledge signed by KKM is believed to strengthen integrity and corruption-free practice among its staff”.
He added, the emphasis and implementation of corruption-free practice by KKM has to be made a priority. This is to enhance the quality of health service in terms of efficiency, transparency and accountability.
At the ceremony, about 576 staff from KKM signed and pledged to the Corruption-Free Pledge led by the KKM Sectrary-General, Dato’ Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min in the presence of the Chief Director of Health, Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah. Dato’ Sri Jamidan acted as witness of the pledging ceremony.
Also gracing the event were the Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam and his Deputy, Dato’ Seri Dr. Hilmi Haji Yahya as well as the Head of KKM Integrity Unit, Chief SAC Hasbilah Mohamad Salleh.
