KANGAR, 14 March - The Perlis State Government signed the Corruption-Free Pledge introduced by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to ensure a transparent administration free from any element of corruption and abuse of power.
The signing ceremony was led by the Menteri Besar of Perlis, Dato' Seri Azlan Man, followed by Speaker of the State Assembly, seven Excos and three ex-officio. The event, held at Kompleks DUN Perlis was witnessed by the Chief Commissioner of MACC, Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad.
This initiative by the State Government reflects leadership by example while demonstrating support towards MACC’s corruption prevention initiatives.
MACC hopes that the signing of this pledge will serve as a deterrent from any involvement in corruption or abuse of power within the top level of state administration. A government administration should reflect a clean institution as it is constantly under the scrutiny of the rakyat.
The Perlis State Government joins the State Governments of Sarawak, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan and Malacca as the fifth signee of the Corruption-Free Pledge.
