KUALA LUMPUR, 27 February - The Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI) took the initiative of signing the Corruption-Free Pledge with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at Menara MITI today.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) of MACC, YBhg. Dato' Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil and Chief Secretary of MITI, YBhg. Datuk Seri J. Jayasiri.
The Corruption-Free Pledge was led by Datuk Seri J. Jayasiri, with the senior directors, directors and all members of MITI following suit. The ceremony then saw the signing of the pledge, witnessed by the Deputy Chief Commissioner of MACC.
MITI’s initiative of signing this pledge serves as a promise to build solid governance for the organisation, as well as to empower integrity into its staff members. This would then help catalyse a high level of integrity in the rakyat and other ministries.
The ceremony was also graced by talk about “When Gifts Become Bribes” by Chief Sr. Asst. Comm. Razim Bin Hj. Mohd Noor, Deputy Director of MACC Community Education Division.
MITI is the second ministry to sign the Corruption-Free Pledge, after the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
