CYBERJAYA, 10 January - The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDNM) today becomes the first government agency to take the initiative to sign the Corruption-Free Pledge in cooperation with MACC.
The ceremony, held at Menara Hasil LHDNM Cyberjaya, was attended by MACC’s Chief Commissioner, Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad and LHDNM’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Sabin Samitah.
According to Datuk Dzulkifli, the Corruption-Free Pledge is unique and different from the Corporate Integrity Pledge as it emphasises on the pledge and promise by LHDNM’s leadership and staff on an individual capacity to shoulder responsibility and accountability to avoid from succumbing to temptations of corruption and abuse of power.
“By signing this pledge, LHDNM’s leadership and staff clearly portray honesty, commitment and desire to serve in a conducive and corruption-free environment to carry out their duties to the rakyat. These aspiration and awareness are commendable and must be set as an example for other government agencies. You are the advocates of change, and for the courage to embrace change, I applaud you”, he said.
The Pronouncement of the Corruption-Free Pledge was led by Datuk Sabin Samitah, followed by Deputy CEOs, Heads of LHDNM Departments, Divisions and States before a signing session was held, witness by MACC’s Chief Commisioner, Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad.
Also in attendance were MACC’s Deputy Chief Commissioner, Dato' Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil; Director of MACC Community Education Division, Dep. Comm. Hj. Abdul Samat Kasah and Director of Inspection and Consultancy Division, Dato' Hj. Mohamad Yusuff Akope.
