KUALA TERENGGANU, 9 Aug - MACC, in collaboration with the Kampung Banggul Tok Ku community successfully organised the Gerak Mesra Programme with Serada Community at Dewan Sivik Serada today, which saw the participation of about 500 locals.
The programme was held to build relations between MACC and the local community to gain their cooperation in fighting corruption through reporting and chanelling information.
Among the activities held were interactive games and competition involving students from Imtiyaz Kuala Terengganu, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UNISZA), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and local children.
The event was graced with the attendance of the President of the Tourism, Culture and Information Technology Committee, Ustaz Ariffin Deraman, as well as the Kuala Terengganu District Officer, Mr. Haji Azmi Razik.
In his closing speech, the Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention), Dato' Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil said that the task of fighting corruption is not exclusive to MACC, and MACC could not carry out their duties more effectively without the people's support.
During the event, the MACC exhibition booth and the MACC.fm booth were opened to the public. The event closed with a prize presentation ceremony to the winners of the games.
